Sharon Ewell Foster
Nicknamed Picasso of the Pen, by Bishop T.D. Jakes, Sharon Ewell (rhymes with Jewel) Foster has published seven novels with an eighth, The Resurrection of Nat Turner, to be released by Simon and Schuster in early 2011. She has eaned multiple starred reviews, is the only African American Christy Award winner (3-time finalist), is winner of the Romantic Times Award for Best Inspirational, is a double-RITA finalist, is winner of the Golden Pen Award, and has earned places on CBA and ABA bestseller lists, including Essence. A Daily Guidepost contributing writer, she weaves multicultural tales that have earned her a loyal audience that crosses racial, religious, age and gender boundaries. Her work has been featured in magazines like Ebony, Library Journal, and Christianity Today, has been selected as Best of Borders, the NAACP Book of the Year, Publishers Weekly Best Religious Works, and Historical Fictoin Review editor's pick. Sharon currently lives in Durham, NC, where she is active in the Creative Arts in Public and Private Schools (CAPPS) program. She holds a BA in Radio-TV-Film from the University of Maryland and is a graduate of the Act One Screenwriting Program. Sharon also ghostwrote a NYT Bestselling novel.
